Kirsten Burt

Kirsten is a professional dancer/choreographer and director of Pure Funk Dance. Her first introduction to dance was doing calisthenics the age of seven and represented South Australia at all levels.​Through her teenage years she dabbled in styles of ballet, contemporary, tap and jazz.

 

She then became part of the All-Stars dance team/Crows cheerleading team representing SA, and performed for 2 weeks in Earls Court, London in 1998, for the Millitary Tattoo.​

Kirsten then went on to work with BFunky dance as a Hip Hop performer and teacher, which started her career asa choreographer, teaching for many other dance schools.

 

​She has worked in the Fitness Industry, gaining certification through theInstitute of Fitness. Kirsten has visited L.A, New York & Japan doing numerous workshops and classes learning from the finestchoreographers around the globe.​

 

She has choreographed for Hip hop School Aerobics competitions, taughtJazz/Funk for Year 12 technique exams, choreographed for Wakakirri & School Esteidfords. and was involved in acommunity development group for multicultural students through STTARS.

 

​She has worked with the homeless, juvenile offenders, hearing impaired students & disabled children. She is devoted in helping dance education in primary, secondary schools & Universities through Ausdance SA and Pure Funk Dance and to anyone wanting to be fit, healthy and creative!
